Building and Construction applications

Thermal bridges correction
The correction of thermal bridges plays an important role in the building construction; These are responsible of up to 20% of heat loss and they often result in the appearance of inflorescences, mould and moisture which degrade the environment as well as the building healthiness itself. The critical points in the residential buildings can be identified in the edge beams, floors, foundation pillars, perimeter columns, balconies, windows and door frames, and more generally in all the scenarios involving the presence of non-homogeneous materials as well as complex geometries.

Thermal bridges correction, as required by the Italian law on energy saving, examines the thermal bridge only from the energy standpoint by limiting the overall thermal transmittance (U-value) of the dummy wall.
Actually, an accurate evaluation is also based on the analysis of the internal surface temperatures and the corresponding risk of condensation. In order to perform this assessment it's necessary to use the F.E.M. (finite element method) analysis which allows, depending on geometries and materials typical of the node under examination, to highlight the heat flow lines, the pattern of isotherms and the risk of condensation too.

Spaceloft line aerogels, thanks to a very low thickness and superior flexibility, can be easily cut and conformed to complex shapes, tight curvatures, and spaces with restricted access always ensuring a continuous and homogeneous coating.

The installation can be done by gluing points and/or mechanically depending both on the placement and the material that constitutes the wall.
